There are many ways you can volunteer with Grassroots Ecology! We offer opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds, everyone is welcome. Scroll down to learn more about the types of volunteer events we offer and what is involved. For all events, prior registration is required.

Community Workdays

Youth Stewards

We offer a cost-free Youth Stewards program for middle and high school students  in summer and winter. Available at multiple park sites!

September-November

Many plants in our ecosystems are dormant and may appear dead at this time — or may not appear at all. We maintain our restoration areas to prepare for their regrowth and the upcoming planting season.

November-February

While these cooler and (hopefully) wetter months are the only time we install native plants, we are also busy with various maintenance tasks.
